How accurate were the unscientific processes conducted on Narayan Sai Ji?

Day in and out the media has continued to bombard us with biased news that has little credibility and stems basically from unfounded rumours and information released by the police. One should not forget that none of these has been proved in a court of law and whatever little detail of allegations and new updates we have should be taken with a pinch of salt. The reason why we cannot yet take these statements for granted is because of the unproven techniques that have been put to use.

Information that have been released by media post Saiji's grilling

Narayan Saiji was sent to police custody on 6th December, 2013 and he was relentlessly grilled by police. According to sources, he was put under the scanner for 15 to 16 hours at end each day! It will not be lost to you that a person subjected to such arduous process cannot be expected to be in his right frame of mind and hence anything said or done by such an individual is not usually accepted in a court of law. In the last seven days we have heard everything from Narayan SaiJi accepting his crimes to admitting about a love child to saying that he had sexual relationships with 8 other women!

We wonder what else the police wanted to hear from him. International scientists and experts on the matter have opined that subjects readily pick up hints from their interlocutors and answer in order to oblige!

Alison Winter, an expert in the history of modern medicine at the University of Chicago says "So someone who is drugged might make a false statement because he or she is responding to a deliberate or unconscious cue". This must be taken into consideration in case of SaiJi as well. He surely must have been under influence of drug and answering to please rather than anything else!

How narco tests fared in the past in India

Outcomes of Narco analysis tests can be summed up with one word - inconclusive. There are more misses for every success that has happened with the application of narcotics or truth serum or any of the myriad chemical concoction law enforcement officials  use on under-trails. Consider these:

1. 2004: Chhagan Bhujbal quit following allegations that were based on result of a narco test done on fake stamp paper case accused Abdul Karim Telgi. Police could not provide proof against Bhujbal and these allegations were dropped.

2. 2010: Aarushi Talwar Murder Case accused were subjected to these test, outcomes were inconclusive.

3. 2013: Jiah Khan suicide case. criminal lawyer Majeed Memon says, "This should not be encouraged, ... The facts of this case do not justify subjecting the accused to narco-analysis test and is undesirable."

Of course if you looked up hard you will find cases to support use of narcotic tests, but there is very little to encourage the court in accepting it as standalone evidence.

Millions in Bapu’s Family

AsaramJi Bapu has a family that has more than a million members in it. Over decades his holiness has spread love and kindness all over the world and drawn millions into his fold who come open handedly to receive and rejoice in his kindness and words of wisdom. But at the very core are 3 people who are as illustrious and kind as Bapu Ji and who have constantly stood by his side. Mata Laxmi Devi, illustrious son Narayan Sai Ji and kind-hearted Bharti Devi Ji are Bapu’s pillars of strength and they remain with Bapu Ji. In a recent interaction with her extended family of disciples Mata Laxmi inquired after and said how kind hearted and patient her husband was. She considers herself blessed to have BapuJi as her teacher, mentor and life partner. She is not alone who consider herself blessed, millions all over the globe who have been accepted within the fold of love and compassion by AsaramJi Bapu have similar views. To them, Mata Laxmi Devi and BapuJi are the shadows of none other than Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva, It is true that Mata Laxmi Devi is an ideal Indian woman and inspiration to all who want a family as illustrious and happy as that of Bapu ji.

Bharati Devi, the daughter of His Holiness Bapu Ji and sister of Narayan Sai Ji calmly reflects on the recent incidents as nothing but attempts by a section of the media and her father’s detractors to weaken them. She says that no force on God’s earth is capable of doing any harm.

The need of the hour is to refrain from listening to false accusations of the media and make an effort to know the truth because what is being portrayed in media today is not the truth. The educated masses of our nation need to reserve their decisions until the honorable court has taken its rightful path, and when that happens we are sure that BapuJi will shine bright as the sun above the cloud of doubt.

Truth Behind the Narayan Sai Arrest From Haryana

There cannot be an iota of doubt that media and some people with vested interests are hand in glove when it comes to publicly bringing disrepute to his holiness Sant Asaramji Bapu and his son Narayan Sai who have been selfishly offering their services for humanity at large. It is quite unfortunate how the media has resorted to cheap and shameless strategies to sling mud without waiting for the law to take its course.

Incessant criticisms and rumours will not only bring disrepute to these newspapers and erode their credibility, it will also plants seeds of doubt in the minds of the masses. This subversive slander against Narayan Saiji and his father is inappropriate and should not be accepted as the gospel truth, because it is not. It must also be noted that there has been rumours of Saiji absconding from the police whereas the truth is that his lawyer had already filed for anticipatory bail and everyone was hopeful that the court would grant the said bail. To everyone's dismay that was not the outcome. In the face of this development, Saiji's lawyers were contemplating further course of action and with that in mind he was travelling to Delhi and had a rendezvous with police.

Saiji was not running from the law, he has every intention of cooperating with the law and help it take it path. There were hesitations because of the unacceptable treatment meted out to His Holiness Asaramji Bapu. This fact has been kept away from the public that the saint was not even provided adequate medical attention by police despite being aware of his medical conditions. This is nothing less than inhuman and planned by conspirators of the saint. When such inhuman incidents can happen to someone of the standing of His Holiness Asaramji Bapu, how can anyone else have faith on impartiality and justice? One has to consider both sides of the story before coming to a conclusion, and the simple truth in this case is that Saiji was not running from the law!

Regulation of Electronic Media - - The Targeted Saints

In less than 2 decades Indian media has grown exponentially. In 1991, there were only a handful of channels and they were owned by the national broadcaster Doordarshan and apart from that there were just the BBC World service and VOA (Voice of America), since then the scene has changed beyond recognition thanks to thriving joint ventures taking place between Indian entities and foreign owned channels like Star, Zee and NDTV among many others. These new collaborations along with international, national and local broadcasters have multiplied by bacteria on a Petri dish! These channels, websites and news portals are run by powerful elite who have an interest in news that is published in newspapers and media channels they own. There is no overseeing body to oversee operations and news published by any of these media outlets. This has at times scared people and raised concerns  about censorship that is largely absent in electronic media. It has brought infamy to many including religious saints and social workers such as Asaramji Bapu.

In case of print media, The Press Council of India governs the conduct of what is published in print, but electronic media does not to date have anything comparable to the PCI. Despite concerns being raised to bring electronic media under the purview of PCI nothing concrete has happened till date. As a result of that a lot of harm has come and until a competitive body is formed there are very little hopes of electronic media refraining from circulating manufactured evidence for their personal gains. One such case of the Indian media doing harm than good is shameful handling of the Ishrat Jahan murder case. The Intelligence Bureau created fake evidence against the young student to which it admitted publicly, but the media could not lose out on the fact that the news was helping media companies generate immense public interest and hence money.

Even when irregularities and inconsistencies appear, the corrupt media houses that bend the truth for their benefit do not get anything more than a cursory finger wag or symbolic warnings that do not serve any purpose. The complicated, corrupt and unregulated media is not playing the role it was expected to, instead it is brining money into the coffers of these media bodies. The issue of regulating electronic media by the state is a sensitive one because doing so would be an anathema to democracy where putting media under the direct control of the state is not ideal or desirable. The desperation of the media houses to satisfy its need for TRPs do not stop at sullying dignitaries or leaders it goes beyond destroying the moral fabric of the society as well, hence some sort of legislation in electronic media is imminent.

Question Mark on the Credibility of Accuser of Narayan Sai

Less than a month ago, Satish Wadhwani, the driver, cook and body-guard of Sant Asaramji Bapu's son Narayan Sai brought allegations against his employer that were of similar nature as those level against the saint Asaramji Bapu. 37 years old Wadhwani was picked up by Indore police following a complaint by a woman who claims Wadhwani molested her. This case of violation of decency is crucial to the case pending against Narayan Sai because Satish Wadhawani, the complainant in this case is himself under the scanner after questions have been raised against his moral forthrightness.

Satish Wadhwani - The accuser who became the accused

Not much is known about Satish Wadhwani. It is said that he was in employment of Narayan Sai from 1994 to 2011 and currently works as a broker for betel trade products in the Siyaganj Mandi in Indore, MP. He is a resident of Manik Bagh locality in Indore.

This person shot into limelight thanks to indiscreet attention bestowed to him despite his less than upright credentials. He alleged that Narayan Sai was running money lending and sex rackets from his Khandwa Road ashram.

Turn of events

In less than a month since allegations were raised against the son of Asaramji Bapu, the accuser was nabbed by Indore police and grilled on charges of molestation and sexual assault on a woman.

The question we need to be asking ourself post this turn of events is should the media have given so much weight to the accusations of a person who cannot be credited with a clean moral, let alone compare his work with the selfless service and humanitarian tasks accomplished by Narayan Sai or the saint Asharamji Bapu.

It is rather scary to realize the fact that the media has lost its discrimination in conducting impromptu trials of leading spiritual saints and leaders of our nation. This trial by media should be shunned and brought to end because it encourages fame-hungry crowds to sling mud on dignitaries and leaders for a few minutes in lime light.

Has the media become tool for everyone to use to attain cheap fame? Why was the credibility of the source not ascertained before portraying him as an upright whistle blower? Will the media apologize for the irreparable damage it has brought upon the good name of the saint and his followers? This remains unanswered.
